SEOUL, Sept. 4 (AJP) - Chinese tech powerhouse Huawei unveiled several artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives on Monday, aiming at accelerating Saudi Arabia's digital evolution and supporting the nation's ambitious Saudi Vision 2030 program.

These initiatives will introduce cutting-edge AI capabilities to the kingdom, including technologies for ubiquitous computing, cost reduction, enhanced data security, and improved edge cloud service experiences. These advancements are expected to contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia's efforts to diversify its economy.

The announcement came during the Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2024, held in Riyadh. Alan Qi, who heads Huawei Cloud in the Middle East and Central Asia, revealed that the company's cloud services are currently utilized by over 300 clients in Saudi Arabia. These include government ministries, leading telecom providers, media organizations, and the majority of Chinese businesses operating within the kingdom.

Qi also highlighted the remarkable growth of Huawei's public cloud business in Saudi Arabia, noting a tenfold increase in revenue for 2023.

The summit, which attracted more than 600 attendees, served as a platform for Huawei to showcase its innovative ecosystem resources and recent advancements in key AI technologies. Particular emphasis was placed on AI-ready model training and inference capabilities.

Through these initiatives, Huawei aims to play a crucial role in Saudi Arabia's ongoing digital transformation and economic diversification efforts.
