SEOUL, Sept. 6 (AJP) - India is devising measures to ensure that drones deployed by its military do not contain Chinese-made components, according to news reports on Thursday.

Sources from India's Ministry of Defence explained that although procurement regulations prohibit the inclusion of Chinese-made parts in drones, these components were used due to a systemic loophole that allows drone manufacturers to self-verify compliance.

The Indian Army has been deploying drones acquired for active use in the northern and eastern regions along the border with China.

Upon receiving information from intelligence agencies, the Ministry of Defence suspended its plans to purchase 200 logistics transport drones from domestic suppliers.

India and China fought a war over border disputes in 1962, and they still haven't settled the issue, instead confronting each other along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

In particular, in July 2020, troops from both sides clashed near the LAC, using blunt weapons in a skirmish that resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers.
