SEOUL, November 12 (AJP) - India is unperturbed by the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said.

According to reports on Wednesday, Jaishankar made the statement at an event in Mumbai when asked about the potential impact of the U.S. election on India-U.S. relations. "PM Modi has actually built rapport across multiple presidents. When he first came to DC, Obama was the president, then it was Trump, then it was Biden," he said, noting Modi's Modi’s skill in building relationships with multiple U.S. leaders.

Jaishankar emphasized that Modi was among the first to call Trump after his victory, underscoring India’s unique stance, as opposed to other countries that are anxious about the U.S. election outcome.

In fact, as Trump’s re-election victory became apparent, Modi promptly posted a congratulatory message on X (formerly Twitter), referring to Trump as "my friend" and expressing hope to work closely again to strengthen India-U.S. ties in fields like technology, defense, and energy.
