SEOUL -- In a bid to attract more young female consumers, the online shopping mall of South Korean retail giant Shinsegae has partnered with Yuhan Kimberly, a major domestic sanitary product maker, to jointly promote new sanitary products such as sanitary pads, tissues, face masks and cleaning tools
SSG.com said in a statement on March 3 that the online shopping mall operator signed a cooperation agreement with Yuhan Kimberly to promote sanitary products through Shinsegae's online mall. Products will be sold through a special brand page dedicated to the sanitary product maker in the first half of 2022.
SSG.com would sell Yuhan Kimberly's newly-released products through its live commerce platform called "SSG Live." Live commerce refers to a mobile app-based shopping show format that is similar to traditional TV home shopping shows. Unlike the TV-based show format, show hosts and customers can chat and ask questions during the show in real-time.
Live commerce platforms are very popular among young female consumers grounded by a coronavirus pandemic in South Korea. According to data released by Kyobo Securities' research center, the domestic live commerce market is projected to reach 10 trillion won in 2023.
