Girl group KARA recruits new member

K-pop girl group KARA has recruited a new member. Heo Young-ji, winner of the cable TV MBC Music's audition program, "KARA project-KARA The Beginning," joined the group, KARA’s management agency said Wednesday.

Heo, 20, beat out three other finalists in the program, which was aired on Tuesday, according to DSP Media.

The group, composed of Gyuri, Seungyeon and Hara in addition to (Heo) Young-ji, plans to release a new album in August and embark on a concert tour to Japanese cities in October, it said.

KARA had been a three-member band since Kang Ji-young and Nicole bolted from the group in January.
