Grammy-winning soprano Sumi Jo will give a performance during a Mass to be led by Pope Francis in Daejeon, central South Korea, late next week, her management agency in Seoul said Wednesday. The Mass will be held at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium on Aug. 15 to mark the Assumption Day.

The program includes tracks from her latest album, “Only Bach,” released in April, the agency, Universal Music Korea, said. They include “Ave Maria,” “Nella Fantasia” by Italian composer Ennio Moriccone and “La Fantasia” by Russian composer Igor Krutoy.

In an interview in April, Jo, a Catholic believer, said she has respected Pope Francis for “his humbleness and honesty," according to the agency.

She said she believes that “his message in South Korea will give some help to the people facing difficulties around the world.

The Pope is scheduled to arrive in South Korea on Aug. 14 for a five-day visit.
