Each shoe retrieved measures 32 centimeters in length, 9 centimeters in height and 9.5 centimeters in width, and has an ankle cover. The top and bottom of each shoe are decorated with dragon designs, and lotus and "tokkebi" (goblin) designs, respectively, according to the archaeologists at the Naju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage.
The "bee hive-shaped" tomb unearthed is 485 centimeters long, 360 centimeters wide and 310 centimeters high.
A number of other artifacts were recovered from the tomb. They include earrings, harness, arrowheads, pillows made of stone and pottery items, the archaeologists said.
