An exposition of the K-beauty industry will be held in the capital city of Thailand this week as part of South Korea's efforts to make inroads into the Southeast Asian cosmetics market.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gyeonggi Province, the K-Beauty Expo Bangkok 2016 will run from Thursday to Saturday at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, the provincial government said.
About a hundred South Korean companies are expected to showcase a diverse array of beauty products for skin, hair and nails and even medical services, the government said.
During the three-day event, diverse programs including seminars on Korean beauty trends and matching sessions between buyers and participating firms will be provided, it said.
"The expo will be a platform of interchanges for the South Korean cosmetics industry to build networks with Thailand and other neighboring countries," a provincial official said, asking not to be named. "We will put our utmost efforts towards advertising our beauty industry and making inroads into the ASEAN market."
