A 20-year-old drunken woman crawled into the narrow exit hole of a claw vending machine to snatch out a toy but got stuck inside, groaning and calling for help, until South Korean firefighters rescued her with power tools.
The incident took place in Incheon city some 30 kilometers (18 miles) west of Seoul at 4:00am (1900 GMT) Monday when the woman squeezed her body into the vending machine through its exit hole, 30 centimeters (11 inches) wide and 30 centimeters long, according to a fire station in Incheon.
"She put her arm and shoulder first and eventually succeeded in getting into the machine but could not get out," a firefighter told Aju News. "Fortunately, she was rescued unhurt"
"With power tools, we cut and drilled a wider hole to pull her out of the machine. It could have been dangerous if she was left alone because the vending machine was located in a closed market."
Helped by a quick operation, the woman and her friends who called a nearby fire station were sent home safely.
