It has not been that long since the social media buzzed with a news of an 8-year-old boy driving to a nearby McDonalds by himself. There is another boy who will top the record with the driving distance he managed.

An Australian 12-year-old boy was taken into custody after driving about 800 miles (1,300 km) across Australia. He left his home in Kendall, New South Wales and was heading to Perth in Western Australia, which is 2,485 miles (4,000 km) away, according to police.

He even stopped at a gas station in Cobar to fuel up and left without paying, but the manager at the station didn't feel suspicious and stop him because he thought the boy looked older than his age like "19 or 20", NBC reported.

The reason why the boy was heading to Perth is still unknown, and he was reunited with his parents and no charges were filed currently.

People on social media are still curious to find out why he tried to make the trip. There are multiple theories ranging from dark to romantic being tossed around. Two major theories are:  the parents of the boy being abusive and the boy wanted to escape, and the boy was trying to visit his online girlfriend in Perth.
