A wedding is one of the biggest celebration of life especially when you know you met "the one". A 28-year-old groom named Osman al-Alsaied from Egypt was celebrating the last night as a single man before his wedding.

One of the celebration rituals in Egypt was to fire guns in the air. The celebration was going well until a 26-year-old man who was attending the party negligently fired his gun at the groom and the shotgun pellets struck al-Alsaied's genitals, thigh, and hand.

The groom was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in "critical condition" according to the local authorities. The 26-year-old man who shot the groom fled the scene right after the incident but was later arrested. The investigators are questioning the culprit to determine if the incident was intentional.

The incident took place 67 miles north of Cairo, capital of Egypt, in Zafar village.

After the news made headlines, many Egyptians expressed through social media that this old tradition is nothing more than a dangerous game that can potentially kill a person. Many strongly suggested that this tradition needs to end.

There was another incident reported last month in Egypt related to a celebratory gunshot going wrong again.
