SEOUL -- The South Korean branch of Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with KT, a Seoul-based telecom and technology firm, to develop a special charger and stand for EQ, a family of battery electric vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz intends to produce ten EQ models by 2022. In South Korea, the German carmaker has released its plug-in hybrid SUV, GLC 350 e 4MATIC.
Mercedes-Benz Korea said Thursday that EQ customers can use a free recharging service at the exhibition and service centers. The charger can be installed at the homes of EQ vehicle customers. The company vowed to expand cooperation with South Korean partners in developing customer-friendly services and technology.
