SEOUL -- The music streaming arm of Tencent has forged a strategic partnership with JYP Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment and record label backed by K-pop groups such as TWICE, ITZY and Stray Kids. They would maximize synergy by creating various music entertainment services along with joint marketing, promotions and live events.

Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) is a joint venture between Tencent and Spotify, the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service. Their apps include QQ Music, Kugou, Kuwo, WeSing and Ultimate Music.

JYP will supply music to TME's music and social entertainment platforms and present content on various videos and live channels. TME hopes to use its tie-up with JYP as an opportunity to upgrade the venue for K-pop cultural exchanges. The tie-up came after TME established a new joint label with Warner Music Group.
