Ocean Park Hong Kong is one of the largest theme parks in Hong Kong along with Hong Kong Disneyland. The theme park was visited by more than 5.8 million people annually before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. It has various rides and attractions such as an aquarium, roller coasters and animal exhibits.
Pinkfong said in a statement on January 19 that the company will collaborate with Ocean Park Hong Kong to open an event titled "Little Explorer." Photo zones featuring Baby Shark will be installed at an aquarium and various parks. Many Baby Shark-related performances will be held to interact with visitors.
The educational entertainment company will also open a 990 square meter-wide offline pop-up theme park, which is the size of five tennis courts, in Taipei to enable Taiwanese fans to explore various Baby Shark content. The first pop-up theme park that opened in Singapore on October 7 provided various experiences such as 3D realistic content, character sculptures and amusement.
"We'll continue to seek unique, creative ways to bring the fun of our beloved shows and characters to the daily lives of kids and families," said Gemma Joo, Pinkfong's chief business officer. The company said four experimental stores opened in China.
Pinkfong has garnered global popularity for its Baby Shark content. Baby Shark depicts a story about a family of great white sharks with colorful visuals and a catchy melody. The "Baby Shark Dance" video uploaded in 2016 gained more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube.
