SEOUL -- Team Naver, the digital business arm of South Korea’s largest portal site, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) to build an intelligent transportation system in the Middle East country.
Under the agreement, Team Naver will utilize its technologies in cloud, artificial intelligence and digital technologies to build a new transportation system for Saudi Arabia.
If this project goes smoothly, Saudi Arabia will be equipped with a high-definition map for vehicles and a traffic situation simulation environment, thus enhancing the efficiency of transportation operations. Traffic situations will be monitored and analyzed in real time to improve traffic safety and efficiency.
Team Naver official Chae Seon-joo said in a press release, "This agreement is a good example of a win-win collaboration that combines our advanced technologies with SAPTCO's experience in transportation operations.”
“Naver will continue to support the digital transformation of various industries and contribute to social development based on its technological capabilities in the global market.”
Khalid Alhogail, CEO of SAPTCO, said, "We will accelerate the construction of an intelligent transportation system to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 through cooperation with Naver. We expect this partnership to be a significant platform for the introduction of smart mobility solutions in Saudi Arabia."
