LG, Samsung dominate US consumer TV rankings

SEOUL, June 24 (AJU PRESS) - Korean electronics giants LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have secured top positions in Consumer Reports' annual best TV rankings, with their organic light-emitting diode (OLED) models receiving particular praise.

The influential U.S. consumer magazine selected eight models as this year's best TVs, with four from LG and two from Samsung, according to market insiders on Monday.

LG's OLED evo (model G4) and Samsung's 65-inch OLED TV (model QN65S90D) both received the highest score of 87 points, underscoring the growing dominance of OLED technology in the premium TV market.

Market research firm Omdia expects global OLED TV shipments to increase by 12.9 percent year-on-year to 6.29 million units in 2024. Both LG and Samsung have enhanced their OLED offerings with advanced AI processors, improved upscaling capabilities and features tailored for gaming users.
