SEOUL, September 11 (AJP) - SM Entertainment has debuted its first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered virtual artist, nævis, with an English single, "Done."

The music video for the digital single, released on Tuesday, has gained over 590,000 views on YouTube within 17 hours. The video features the virtual artist performing alongside four human backup dancers.

Through her debut song, nævis expresses her first step toward freedom, breaking away from the space and existence that had long repressed her.

The virtual singer's debut follows her surprise appearances in music videos and a concert of K-pop girl band aespa.

"The face and the voice are like references to all the aespa members; I see Karina's eyes, Ning's mouth, Winter's proportions and nose, and Giselle's attitude," said a YouTube user.

Earlier this month, SM partnered with LG Uplus, a telecom operator, to create various types of content, including music videos and short-form videos, for the digital human using LG Uplus's generative AI technology.
