SEOUL, September 26 (AJP) - LG Group’s top executives held a workshop on Wednesday to discuss mid- to long-term management strategies, focusing on customer experience innovation and artificial intelligence transformation.

During the President's Workshop at LG Inhwawon in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, Chairman Koo Kwang-mo emphasized the importance of setting ambitious targets to cope with ever-fierce global competition.

"Let’s make history by setting our sights on being the first and the best in the world—just as we’ve done with white goods, electric vehicle batteries, and groundbreaking medical advancements—and shape the future of LG,” he said during the meeting attended by about 40 top executives.

"Even while others saw the limits of white goods, we set a target of 30 percent growth instead of a 5 percent  improvement, creating the top brand in the global market."

He noted that LG pioneered the world’s first mass-produced electric vehicle battery, which became a turning point in the electric vehicle era.

"As we look ahead, let’s continue to break free from convention and aim to be the best and the first, doing our utmost to shape the history of LG’s future together."

The leadership team reviewed 40 innovation cases across various subsidiaries, showcasing AI applications in customer experience and operational efficiency.

The workshop highlighted LG's progress in AI, biotechnology, and cleantech. Notable achievements include using AI to accelerate drug discovery and optimize battery cell design.

LG Electronics CEO William Cho stressed the importance of bold innovation and transformation, particularly in light of rapidly advancing Chinese competitors.

This year's executive meetings have been held at affiliate companies to encourage open dialogue and gather insights from the field.

The leadership team has prioritized site visits, with Chairman Koo touring facilities earlier in the year. These regular collaborations, including the annual Presidents' Council and September workshop, form a cornerstone of LG's leadership structure.
