SEOUL, September 30 (AJP) - The Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) has promoted Korean food and beauty products at a major Korean cultural event in the United States.

The LA Korean Festival, with around 400,000 annual attendees, is one of the largest multicultural festivals in the western U.S. It features traditional cuisine, beauty products, and K-pop entertainment. This year, the festival took place at the Seoul International Park in Los Angeles over four days, starting on Thursday.

KBIZ said Sunday that over 290 Korean company booths were set up, marking the largest participation to date.

The federation collaborated with Home & Shopping, a TV shopping channel, to establish an exhibition booth, showcasing popular beauty and food products in the U.S. KBIZ believes this will serve as a catalyst for Korean firms to expand into the U.S. market.

"Most K-food and K-beauty products that are popular overseas are produced by professional small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and many products sold under large brand names are often manufactured by SMEs as OEMs (original equipment manufacturers)," said KBIZ Chairman Kim Ki-moon.

Established in 1962, KBIZ aims to advocate for the interests of more than 8 million SMEs in Korea.
