SEOUL, November 7 (AJP) - South Korea's relationships with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) were highlighted at a conference in Seoul on Thursday, focusing on enhanced collaboration and partnership across various sectors.

Hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ASEAN Secretariat, the conference, under the slogan of "Towards a Sustainable and Resilient Future," brought together hundreds of government officials, diplomats and other participants from 10 ASEAN member countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In celebration of evolving into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), the conference also marked the 35th anniversary of South Korea's relations with ASEAN and the 15th anniversary of the founding of the ASEAN-Korea Centre.

"Over the past years we have seen remarkable progress in cooperation for the region," said Russ Jalichandra, Thailand's Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs. "I believe participants surely gained valuable insights from the perspectives offered by prominent speakers from various sectors, as well as through the exchange of knowledge and information."

Sessions covered diverse topics such as fostering partnerships for economic resilience and sustainable growth, expanding sociocultural exchanges, and examining future directions for the region.
