SEOUL, January 28 (AJP) - BLACKPINK member Rosé's "APT." reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Monday, setting a record for the highest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist.
The track, featuring Bruno Mars, rose two spots from last week, surpassing her previous record of No. 5, Billboard reported.
The song has spent 14 consecutive weeks on the chart since its October debut at No. 8.
"APT." also became the first K-pop song to top Billboard's Pop Airplay chart, which tracks weekly radio plays. BTS previously held the K-pop record on the chart, reaching No. 5 with "Dynamite."
On Friday, the single maintained its No. 2 position on the U.K. Official Singles Chart behind Lola Young's "Messy," marking its 14th week on that chart.
Music industry experts attribute the song's success to its combination of Rosé's vocals with Mars' funk-influenced style.
The 15-time Grammy winner's collaboration and the song's catchy hook have helped drive its global appeal.
The track's recent climb coincides with holiday music leaving the charts, creating space for other songs to rise in ranking.
