President Lee: Judicial Murder, Knife Attacks, and Honor Killings Threaten Citizens

President Lee Jae-myung stated on May 9 that the threats of judicial murder through manipulated prosecutions, knife attacks orchestrated by terrorists, and honor killings driven by manipulated media are serious dangers to the public. He expressed, "Heaven has saved me from these grave threats, so my life now belongs entirely to the people."

On this day, President Lee shared an article on his X (formerly Twitter) account, which reported that the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission concluded there was inappropriate involvement by former Vice Chair Jeong Seung-yun in the handling of the helicopter emergency report incident during his tenure as leader of the Democratic Party in 2024.

He remarked, "Heaven has entrusted me with a mission beyond preserving my life, so my only duty is to create a government that operates solely for the people." He added, "Thank you, citizens."

President Lee promised, "Until the very last moment, even if it means breaking my body, I will devote my heart and strength for the people, who are akin to heaven."

Jeong Il-yeon, chair of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, announced the previous day the results of a task force aimed at normalizing the commission, confirming that Jeong Seung-yun had included matters not discussed in the commission's meeting in the official minutes regarding the helicopter emergency report incident in July 2024.
