"We sometimes cannot sell rooms due to high demand," said Masahiro Yokoi, General Manager of Grand Mercure Okinawa Cape Zanpa Resort, in a recent interview.
The resort, which was revamped under the Grand Mercure brand in April 2024, was named the top-selling hotel in Okinawa for 2025 by Japan's largest online travel agency, Jalan. The resort boasts an annual occupancy rate exceeding 80%, with summer peak periods reaching over 90%.
Yokoi attributed the resort's success to its all-inclusive model. "Guests can enjoy the lounge, meals, and drinks without additional costs," he said, noting that a variety of beverages, including draft beer, Awamori, cocktails, and wine, contribute to high customer satisfaction.
Along with rebranding, the hotel underwent a complete renovation of its rooms and enhanced its pool and family-friendly facilities, boosting its competitiveness as a resort destination.
Currently, about 15% of the resort's guests are international travelers, with South Korea being the largest overseas market. South Korean visitors account for approximately 6% of total guests.
Yokoi mentioned, "The number of South Korean travelers has been steadily increasing," adding that the resort is continuously expanding menu options and content preferred by Korean customers.

He also highlighted the cultural appeal of the Zanpa region. "While tourists often stay in Naha city, the Zanpa area offers a much more attractive experience for those wanting to engage with traditional culture."
The resort offers programs that connect guests with local culture through Ryukyu dance, traditional crafts, and marine activities.
Yokoi expressed his desire to provide travelers with experiences that encompass both Okinawan culture and nature, stating, "Our goal is to become a representative resort that visitors can enjoy year-round."
