KB Insurance has joined efforts to support ALS patients and raise awareness through social contribution activities. On June 20, the company announced its participation as a main sponsor in the '2026 Ice Bucket Challenge Run in Seoul,' held at Banpo Hangang Park.

The Ice Bucket Challenge Run is a prominent campaign organized by the Seungil Hope Foundation since 2018 to support ALS patients and their families. Participants complete a group run and then take part in the ice bucket challenge, where they pour ice water over themselves. This act aims to foster empathy for the temporary muscle stiffness experienced by ALS patients.

This year, a total of 2,675 people, including 2,500 participants and volunteers, took part in the event. Among them, over 300 employees from KB Insurance, including CEO Koo Bon-wook, participated voluntarily.

Participants reflected on the campaign's significance through pre-event programs, including an opening concert, photo zones, and experience booths, before embarking on group runs of 3, 5, and 8 kilometers. After completing the runs, they simultaneously participated in the ice bucket challenge to show their support for ALS patients.

The funds raised from this campaign will be used to support the operational costs of the Seungil Hope Hospital, which was established for ALS patients and their families.

Since signing a memorandum of understanding with the Seungil Hope Foundation in August of last year, KB Insurance has been actively engaged in care support and awareness initiatives for patients and families affected by severe muscular rare diseases, including ALS.
