Osstem Implant is accelerating its expansion in the dental and medical interior business, having surpassed 2,000 cumulative orders. The company is leveraging big data to enhance its market influence through customized medical space designs. The outlook for the business remains positive, with industry reports indicating that dental interior competitiveness is increasingly extending into the medical sector, which has been growing at over 10% annually in recent years.

On June 22, Osstem Implant announced that it has exceeded 2,000 cumulative orders in its dental and medical interior business, just nine years after its inception. Following the achievement of 1,000 orders in 2023, the company has added another 1,000 projects in approximately three years.

The company stated, "By collaborating with numerous dental clinics, we have optimized the movement paths of medical staff based on accumulated big data and established a standard design system tailored to the characteristics of treatment spaces." They added, "Unlike general commercial facilities, medical spaces must consider treatment efficiency, hygiene, and safety, making specialized design capabilities essential."

Osstem Implant operates 34 subsidiaries in 30 countries worldwide and has 20 business locations and 17 research institutes in South Korea. The company is connecting its networks and field experience in the global and domestic dental markets to enhance its competitiveness in the interior business.

To support this, Osstem Implant is also operating a dedicated interior research institute, which has received formal establishment approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT. This institute focuses on developing materials, designing specialized storage systems, optimizing movement paths for medical staff and patients, blocking harmful substances, and minimizing X-ray exposure.

The company has also strengthened its infrastructure to ensure construction quality. Osstem Implant collaborates with major material companies to use high-quality raw materials and operates a furniture factory in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, covering about 900 pyeong, where it directly manufactures furniture and construction materials.

Reducing construction time is another competitive advantage. The company has standardized design and planning processes and pre-manufactured key materials and furniture, simplifying on-site work to focus on installation and assembly. This has reduced the construction period for a 50-pyeong dental clinic from over five weeks to more than a 30% reduction, with a current goal of completing projects within two weeks.

Osstem Implant plans to expand the application of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart management system in the future. The currently operational leak detection and blocking system allows real-time monitoring of abnormal situations through a mobile application linked to sensors, enabling remote management.

A representative from Osstem Implant stated, "We plan to continue expanding the scope of IoT-based management systems and smart technology applications to enhance both safety and convenience in medical spaces."

Meanwhile, Osstem Implant recently disclosed in its business report that it achieved consolidated revenue of 1.33 trillion won last year. During the same period, operating profit was 80.1 billion won, a decrease of about 49% compared to the previous year (159.8 billion won), attributed to increased labor and development costs due to proactive hiring for business expansion. Overseas sales reached 905.5 billion won, accounting for approximately 68% of total revenue.
