Kim Ho-jung, a singer serving time for a drunk driving hit-and-run, will be released on parole on June 30.

His agency announced on June 23 that Kim recently passed the Ministry of Justice's parole review.

Kim was previously considered for parole during a special Christmas release in December but was deemed ineligible. With this latest approval, he will be released approximately five months earlier than his scheduled release date in November.

Kim was arrested and charged after driving under the influence and colliding with a taxi on Apgujeong Road in Gangnam, Seoul, on May 9, 2024, before fleeing the scene. He also faces charges for allegedly having his manager turn himself in on his behalf.

Initially denying the drunk driving allegations, Kim admitted to drinking ten days after the incident.

He has been serving his sentence at the Seoul Detention Center before being transferred to Somang Prison in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province in August of last year.
