A 70-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a colleague with a weapon at the Ilmin Museum of Art in the Dong-A Ilbo building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.

The Jongno Police Station announced on June 27 that they have applied for an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder and arson preparation.

According to police, Mr. A is accused of wielding a sickle against a 40-year-old victim, Mr. B, on the fourth floor of the museum the previous morning.

After the attack, Mr. A fled to the Samgakji area, but police apprehended him at around 5:50 p.m. at the residence of an acquaintance in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

Authorities also recovered a bag believed to belong to Mr. A at the scene, which reportedly contained a container of gasoline.

Mr. A and Mr. B were acquaintances, and Mr. B was seen walking out of the building after the incident, where he was witnessed by commuters on their way to work.

Mr. B is currently in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger.
