The Bank of Korea announced on June 28 that it will distribute all orders for the commemorative coins celebrating the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting without a lottery system.

Earlier this month, the Bank of Korea opened reservations for the coins to commemorate the domestic hosting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. The selling prices are set at 128,300 won for the silver coin (face value of 70,000 won) and 46,000 won for the copper-nickel coin (face value of 30,000 won), with a two-coin set priced at 168,200 won. The silver coin features the theme of the tidal flat ecosystem, while the copper-nickel coin highlights the Bangudae Petroglyphs, reflecting the ecological and historical values of Korea's natural heritage.

The commemorative coins will be available for pickup at bank branches or via mail starting July 23, depending on the chosen method during the reservation process.

Any remaining inventory after the reservation period will be sold by the Korea Mint Corporation at the same prices both online and offline starting next month. Online sales will be continuously available through the Korea Mint Corporation's shopping mall, while offline sales will take place at the venue of the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee event in Busan from July 20 to 22. Detailed sales methods will be announced by the Korea Mint Corporation at a later date.

The Bank of Korea advised that the distribution and sales schedules are subject to change, and encouraged the public to check the Korea Mint Corporation's online shopping mall and the designated application bank, NH Nonghyup Bank, for further details.
