President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating has continued to decline for six consecutive weeks, remaining in the mid-40s, according to a recent poll.

A survey conducted by Realmeter at the request of Energy Economy News from June 22 to 26, involving 2,502 adults aged 18 and older nationwide, found that Lee's positive evaluation of his presidency dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 46.5% compared to the previous week.

Negative evaluations stood at 49.5%, also down by 0.2 percentage points from last week, but still exceeding positive ratings within the margin of error (±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level). The percentage of respondents who answered 'don't know' was 4%.

Realmeter analyzed that the ongoing decline in approval ratings is attributed to political disputes surrounding the government's plan to abolish the prosecution's supplementary investigation rights and controversies over semiconductor investments in the Honam region.

In a separate survey conducted on June 25-26 among 1,002 adults aged 18 and older regarding party support, the Democratic Party recorded 41%, while the People Power Party garnered 42%, indicating a close race within the margin of error.

The Democratic Party saw an increase of 0.9 percentage points from the last survey, while the People Power Party decreased by 0.3 percentage points. Realmeter noted that internal conflicts regarding the leadership of Representative Jang Dong-hyuk have led to a loss of support in Seoul, Chungcheong, and among moderate voters, although the party's core support from conservative voters and the Yeongnam region has helped mitigate the decline.

Support for the Justice Innovation Party was recorded at 3.7%, followed by the Reform Party at 2.8% and the Progressive Party at 1.5%. Other parties accounted for 2.1%, while the undecided voter percentage was 6.9%.

Both surveys were conducted using automated telephone response methods. The margin of error for the presidential approval rating survey is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with a response rate of 4.1%. The party support survey had a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with a response rate of 3.4%.
