CJ Logistics is enhancing accident prevention and response capabilities in the logistics sector through hands-on safety training programs.

On June 29, CJ Logistics announced that the number of participants in its safety training has surpassed 1,000 since the opening of its Safety Experience Center. Established in 2023 at the Gonjiam Mega Hub Terminal in Gyeonggi Province, the center has conducted a total of 48 experiential training sessions. In 2024, it became the first in the logistics industry to receive certification as a 'Private Safety Experience Training Center' from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA).

The Safety Experience Center is designed to enhance response capabilities by allowing participants to experience potential hazards in the logistics environment. It offers nine courses that include training based on real accident scenarios, such as helmet impacts, electric shocks, and falls, along with virtual reality (VR) programs. The center is also certified by the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation to conduct its own training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use.

The effectiveness of the training is evident in improved on-site response capabilities. A notable example occurred in December when an employee at a logistics center in Gimpo quickly performed CPR on a worker who had collapsed, successfully administering emergency care. Additionally, the company continues to identify and improve workplace hazards, such as installing safety signs in high-risk areas, enhancing workplace lighting, and separating pedestrian pathways.

CJ Logistics has opened the Safety Experience Center not only to its employees but also to partner companies and other logistics firms, aiming to promote a culture of safety across the industry.

The company has also strengthened measures to prevent heat-related illnesses during the summer. It is the first in the industry to guarantee delivery workers' rights to stop work and to provide tailored management for high-risk groups, including the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions, through health checks and flexible delivery volume adjustments. CJ Logistics applies enhanced break times beyond government recommendations and utilizes its self-developed temperature and humidity monitoring system, 'LoIS OnDo,' for better management of working conditions.

Kim Yoo-seung, head of safety management at CJ Logistics, stated, "We will continue to advance experiential safety training, on-site preventive activities, and a digital-based safety management system to establish a prevention-focused safety culture and improve safety standards across the logistics industry."

The CJ Logistics Safety Experience Center spans approximately 230 square meters and is equipped with VR experiences, CPR and AED training, and real accident simulation equipment. CJ Logistics operates the largest number of safety training facilities and preventive programs among domestic logistics companies.
