President Yoon Calls Lee Jae-Yong and Chey Tae-Won 'National Heroes'

President Yoon Suk Yeol praised Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-Yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-Won as "national heroes" during a national report on three mega projects held at the Presidential Office on June 29.

"This is truly a moment of great emotion. A new history for South Korea has begun," President Yoon said at the event.

After the government presented its plans and the investment announcements from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, President Yoon shared the stage with both leaders.

He remarked, "We are now facing an unimaginable new future, and today will be the starting point for that journey."

The president expressed his desire to refer to the two business leaders as national heroes on behalf of the people, emphasizing that while companies seek profits, they can also contribute to the national community.

"They could have chosen to go abroad, but our companies made difficult choices and decisions for the future of our people and our nation," he said, bowing in gratitude to both Lee and Chey.

Following this, President Yoon stood between the two leaders, and together they shouted, "Let’s fight for the future of South Korea!"
