Sejong Law Firm, led by Managing Partner Oh Jong-han, announced it will hold a seminar titled "Evolving Tax Environment and Corporate Responses" on July 14 at 2:30 PM at the seminar room on the 24th floor of Sejong Grand Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Recent trends show an increase in tax audits by authorities and a rise in tax disputes. Coupled with rapid changes in international tax systems and geopolitical risks, managing tax risks and developing strategic responses have become essential for corporate survival.

In response, Sejong's Corporate Strategy and Tax Center organized this seminar to discuss the latest trends in tax audits and disputes, as well as practical strategies for addressing key domestic and international tax issues, including tariffs under the Trump administration.

The seminar will open with remarks from Baek Je-hum, the head of Sejong's Tax Group. The first session will feature joint presentations by attorney Kim Min, who has extensive field experience as the head of the International Tax Division at the National Tax Service and the Investigation and Litigation Divisions of the Seoul Regional Tax Office, and certified public accountant Yoon Geun-hee, who has worked at the Tax Tribunal and Mediation Office. They will analyze recent trends in tax audits and disputes.

The second session will focus on "International Tax Horizons and Trump Tariffs." It will include insights from attorney Yoon Jun-seok, a former judge at the Seoul Administrative Court with a Ph.D. in tax law from Seoul National University, and attorney Baek Hye-young, a customs and foreign exchange expert who has served as an inspector at the Seoul Customs and as deputy director of the WCO RILO AP. They will present solutions for businesses facing global trade barriers and changes in international tax.

The final segment will be a comprehensive discussion led by Lee Chang-hee, a tax law authority and former professor at Seoul National University Law School. The panel will include former Seoul Regional Tax Office Commissioner Lim Seong-bin, former Ministry of Economy and Finance Tax Policy Director Kim Byeong-kyu, senior foreign attorney Oh Hyuk, who has successfully led numerous cross-border consultations at Deloitte and Sejong Law Firm, and Professor Noh Mi-ri, who teaches corporate and tax law at Dong-A University. They will provide in-depth insights from government, academia, and industry perspectives.

Baek Je-hum stated, "The recent strengthening of tax audits, changes in the international tax environment, and customs issues have made the tax risks businesses must consider increasingly complex and diverse. I hope this seminar will be a meaningful opportunity to accurately understand the changing tax environment and seek practical response strategies."

The seminar will be held in person, and interested participants can register and inquire through Sejong's Planning Office at seminar@shinkim.com.

Meanwhile, the Sejong Tax Group, known for its manpower across legislative, administrative, and judicial sectors, has strengthened its capacity to provide one-stop legal services for domestic and international tax issues by recruiting high-ranking professionals and experts, including former judge Yoon Jun-seok, attorney Lee Ji-sung, senior foreign attorney Oh Hyuk, and certified public accountants Yoon Geun-hee and Lee Jin-wook this year.
