Daewon Pharmaceutical has received international standard certification for its integrated anti-corruption and compliance management systems, a move aimed at enhancing its internal control framework in response to the increasingly stringent regulatory environment in the pharmaceutical industry.

On June 29, Daewon Pharmaceutical held a certification ceremony at its headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, where it was awarded the integrated certification for the Anti-Corruption Management System (ISO 37001) and the Compliance Management System (ISO 37301). These standards, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), are granted to organizations that have systems in place to proactively identify and manage corruption and compliance risks.

The ceremony was attended by Baek Seung-yeol, Vice Chairman of Daewon Pharmaceutical; Baek In-hwan, President; Kim Myung-ok, Deputy Director of the Korea Compliance Promotion Agency; and Director Yong Seok-gwang, among others.

ISO 37001 is an international standard management system designed to prevent, detect, and respond to corruption risks within organizations, while ISO 37301 focuses on compliance with laws and regulations across the organization. By integrating these two systems, Daewon Pharmaceutical aims to enhance its overall compliance and anti-corruption management effectiveness.

Since obtaining ISO 37001 certification in 2018, Daewon Pharmaceutical has continuously operated and improved its related systems. In light of the recent tightening of regulations in the pharmaceutical sector, the company pursued the integrated certification by adding ISO 37301. The company has established an enterprise-wide management system based on the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, implementing execution, monitoring, and improvement activities.

Baek Seung-yeol stated, "With the acquisition of the ISO 37001 and 37301 integrated certification, we will continue to strengthen post-management and internal inspections. We are committed to establishing a transparent management culture and leading by example in its implementation."
