Kim Ho-jung: 'Responsibility Over Freedom, I Will Reflect on My Remaining Sentence'

Kim Ho-jung, who was released on parole on June 30 after serving time for a hit-and-run incident, stated, "Rather than feeling the freedom of leaving prison, I feel a greater sense of responsibility and will reflect on my remaining sentence."

On the same day, he shared a handwritten letter titled 'To My Beloved Family' on his fan cafe, expressing his feelings about his release.

He noted, "It took me two years to write again. I realize that my mistakes are significant," adding that he was deemed eligible for parole after serving two years and six months of his sentence and was released on June 30.

Kim Ho-jung apologized, saying, "I will clearly see my current situation and live without deviating from it. I am sorry. Truly sorry. I will reflect and correct my heart."

Previously, Kim Ho-jung was arrested and indicted for driving under the influence and hitting a taxi while crossing the center line on May 9, 2024, at 11:44 PM in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul. He also faced charges for having his manager take responsibility for the incident.

The court sentenced him to two years and six months in prison. By passing the parole review, he returned to society about five months earlier than his scheduled release date in November.

Kim Ho-jung was released from Somang Prison in Yeoju on the morning of June 30. Although reporters were waiting at the scene, he left the prison without making any public appearance.
