Daesang Group announced on July 1 that it will conduct the blood donation campaign "2026 Daesang Red Challenge RESPECT YOUR RED!" throughout July, targeting all employees and the general public.

The "Daesang Red Challenge" is a social contribution initiative that Daesang Group has operated in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross since 2006, originally starting as an employee-focused campaign called "Blood Donation Before Vacation." Since 2020, the campaign has expanded to include all citizens to stabilize blood supply. To date, 5,504 employees have participated, collecting 8,301 blood donation certificates. Through a matching grant donation system, Daesang contributed 98.3 million won in 2024 and 50 million won last year, donating 100,000 won for each blood donation certificate collected.

This year, to increase participation, Daesang will expand the operation of customized group blood donation buses to major regional offices, including its headquarters, the Gunsan Jeonbundang factory, the Giheung factory, and the Magok Inno Park. For each blood donation certificate collected during the campaign, a "Respect Box" containing products from Chung Jung One and Jongga will be delivered to pediatric patients.

A new participation program has also been established for employees who cannot donate blood due to health or work conditions. These non-donors can participate by hand-sewing "Hickman pouches" that protect catheters used by pediatric cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or by writing supportive letters. For each of these contributions, a matching donation of a Respect Box will be made to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation.

The general public can also participate through an online promotion. During July, individuals who complete blood donation can answer a related quiz on the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters website for a chance to win one of 200 gift sets valued at 80,000 won. Additionally, customers who view promotional posts for the Daesang "Red Challenge" on the Jongga Naver Smart Store will receive discount coupons, and participants who leave supportive comments for pediatric patients will be entered into a drawing for prizes, including Chung Jung One soup products.

Kim Kyung-sook, head of Daesang's ESG Management Office, stated, "This year's campaign is designed to improve awareness of blood donation during the summer months when blood supply decreases, allowing non-donors and employees at regional offices to participate. We hope that through the altruistic choice of blood donation, we can bring warmth to pediatric cancer patients and practice our core value of respect as a company."
