Hyundai Motor is officially sponsoring the 18th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, aiming to promote its vision for eco-friendly hydrogen mobility.

On July 6, Hyundai announced the sponsorship agreement at its Yangjae headquarters in Seoul, attended by key figures including Shin Seung-kyu, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group's Energy and Hydrogen Policy, and Oh Dong-jin, Executive Chairman of the festival.

Launched in 2009, the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival focuses on themes of peace and ecology, set against the backdrop of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The festival will take place from September 10 to 16 in Goyang and Paju.

As part of the agreement, Hyundai will provide a total of eight hydrogen fuel cell vehicles for VIPs and key personnel during the festival. Specifically, five units of the hydrogen fuel cell SUV 'The All-New Nexo' will be operational throughout the event, and three large hydrogen fuel cell buses, 'Universe FCEV,' will be added on the opening day to allow participants to experience eco-friendly mobility firsthand.

Additionally, Hyundai will showcase a brand film and an advertisement for 'The All-New Nexo' that encapsulates the vision of its hydrogen brand and business platform, 'HTWO.' This initiative aims to fulfill its social responsibility in supporting cultural and artistic endeavors while conveying Hyundai's commitment to sustainable future through ESG management.

Shin Seung-kyu remarked at the signing ceremony, "It is meaningful for Hyundai's eco-friendly hydrogen mobility to be part of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, which addresses the values of peace and life. We will continue to promote the transition to a hydrogen society through various cultural and artistic events and engage in authentic ESG activities."

Hyundai Motor Group has consistently showcased its advanced hydrogen fuel cell technology, operating 'The All-New Nexo' and Universe hydrogen fuel cell buses as official vehicles during the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) held in Busan last August and the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit in Seoul last December.
