Samsung C&T and Kia have been recognized for their achievements in promoting cooperation between large and small businesses and utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial safety technologies.

Samsung C&T was awarded the grand prize, which included a certificate and a cash prize of 2 million won. Four other facilities, including Samsung Electronics' Giheung plant, LG Electronics' Changwon Plant 1, Hyundai Motor's Jeonju plant, and Kumho Petrochemical's Ulsan resin plant, received excellence awards.

In the category of outstanding cases for worker health center activities, the Daejeon Center was recognized for its presentation on psychological support for trauma from major industrial accidents. This initiative aims to provide rapid trauma prevention and management for numerous workers who have directly or indirectly experienced serious accidents. The center also received a certificate and a cash prize of 2 million won.

In the category of AI and smart industrial safety technology, Kia AutoLand Gwangju and Youngshin DNC were awarded the top prize. Kia AutoLand presented its AI-based collision and entrapment accident prevention system, while Youngshin DNC showcased its AI CCTV system that detects falls, fires, lack of safety helmets, and other hazards on construction sites.

Other companies, including Samsung Electronics, Sierra Base, Surepoint, and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, also received excellence awards.

The presentation competition will continue until July 10, with additional presentations on essential policies and projects for creating safe workplaces, including workplace safety guardians, safety experience training centers, and prevention management for heatwaves and cold waves scheduled for July 9 and 10.

Ryu Hyun-cheol, head of the Ministry of Labor's Industrial Safety and Health Bureau, stated, "The best practices presented today should serve as important standards and directions to be disseminated in industrial sites in the future.
