Samsung E&A announced on July 23 that it recorded sales of 2.6093 trillion won, an operating profit of 273.1 billion won, and a net profit of 182.5 billion won for the second quarter of 2026. Compared to the same period last year, sales, operating profit, and net profit increased by 19.8%, 51.0%, and 28.8%, respectively. New orders for the second quarter reached 3 trillion won.

For the first half of the year, Samsung E&A reported sales of 4.8767 trillion won, an operating profit of 461.3 billion won, and a net profit of 345.8 billion won, marking increases of 14.0%, 36.4%, and 15.7% year-on-year. By sector, the chemical engineering division generated 2.2031 trillion won, the advanced industry division brought in 1.4122 trillion won, and the new energy division accounted for 1.2614 trillion won.

The company attributed its improved performance to the significant contribution of sales from large projects and enhanced project cost management. It emphasized that ongoing cost improvements are driven by differentiated execution based on innovative technologies such as AI, automation, and modularization.

New orders for the first half of the year totaled 7.6 trillion won, with 3.4 trillion won coming from the chemical engineering sector, and 2.4 trillion won and 1.8 trillion won from the advanced industry and new energy sectors, respectively. Major contracts include overseas chemical engineering plants and water treatment facilities in the Middle East. The order backlog also saw a slight increase to 22.7 trillion won compared to the previous quarter.

Looking ahead, the company is optimistic about achieving its annual targets. Earlier this year, Samsung E&A set goals of 12 trillion won in new orders, 10 trillion won in sales, and 800 billion won in operating profit. Both new orders and sales are currently exceeding targets, and operating profit is expected to rise as project sales ramp up in the second half of the year.

A Samsung E&A official stated, "The balanced growth across the chemical engineering, advanced industry, and new energy sectors has allowed us to increase both sales and operating profit. We will do our utmost to achieve our annual targets through high-quality project orders and continuous cost competitiveness."

Meanwhile, Samsung's three EPC companies (Samsung E&A, Samsung C&T Construction Division, and Samsung Heavy Industries) announced on July 16 that they will hold the '2026 ConTech Competition' to discover innovative technologies in design, procurement, and construction.
