Kia said it revamped its criteria for evaluating engineering candidates for the first time since 2014 to reflect changes in the manufacturing industry including electrification and digital transformation.
The new criteria focus on three qualities: expertise, growth potential and trustworthiness, it added.
The automaker also said it is looking for engineers with strong problem-solving skills, adaptability and collaboration abilities, qualities it says will be essential at future manufacturing sites.
"We want to hire engineers with strong potential and technical capabilities to strengthen our competitiveness in future mobility," a Kia spokesman said.
More details about the upcoming hiring process are available on Kia's website.
