On July 27, Sampyo Industries, a subsidiary of Sampyo Group, held a performance verification demonstration for its rain-casting concrete 'Bluecon Rain Okay' and high-temperature resistant concrete 'Bluecon Keep Slump' at the Sampyo Technology Research Institute in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province.
The demonstration aimed to verify whether the two products can maintain concrete quality under conditions that closely resemble the increasingly extreme construction environments caused by heavy rain and heat waves.
Sampyo Industries measured the performance of each product through comparative tests with standard concrete, focusing on whether the products could be poured on-site without quality degradation in extreme conditions such as heavy rain and high temperatures.
'Bluecon Keep Slump' is designed to maintain workability even when exposed to high temperatures for extended periods. Developed in collaboration with Hyundai Engineering & Construction, the company stated that it maintains workability more than 2.5 times better than standard concrete in environments where the average daily temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius or where transportation takes more than four hours.
The demonstration of 'Bluecon Rain Okay' included freshwater tests that simulated actual rainfall conditions. Concrete was poured into a mock structure measuring 0.5 meters by 0.5 meters while replicating rainfall of over 5 mm per hour to check for material separation and strength reduction.
Sampyo Industries plans to reduce the causes of poor construction, such as strength reduction and quality defects, through this special concrete technology, thereby enhancing the safety of structures.
