SEOUL, August 12 (AJP) - LG Electronics has launched a new diagnostic monitor cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, expanding its medical display lineup as the South Korean electronics maker targets the business-to-business healthcare market.
The 40-inch monitor, model 40HT513D, features a 21:9 curved IPS Black display with a resolution of 5,120 by 2,160 pixels and 11-megapixel support.
Its three-way picture-by-picture function allows medical professionals to view three separate sources on a single screen, including current and previous X-ray, CT or MRI images alongside electronic medical records. LG said the setup is designed to replace workflows that previously required multiple monitors.
The device also includes a built-in KVM switch that allows users to control two computers with a single keyboard and mouse, as well as calibration tools and viewing modes designed for diagnostic and pathology images.
Hospitals can remotely monitor and manage installed displays through LG Calibration Studio Medical software, including running quality-control tests and receiving alerts when issues are detected.
"We will continue to strengthen our lineup of FDA-cleared diagnostic monitors and provide differentiated customer experiences in the B2B medical monitor market based on our display technology," said Lee Chung-hwan, head of LG Electronics' Display Business Division.
