Pulmuone has expanded its sustainable cooking school, 'Tasty Pulmuone,' to include family units during the summer vacation.

On August 11-12, Pulmuone held a family special class themed 'Healthy Dining with Our Kids' at its headquarters in Suseo, Gangnam, Seoul. A total of 16 participants, consisting of eight parents and eight children, took part, filling all available spots on the first day of registration on July 16.

Tasty Pulmuone is a sustainable cooking school that opened on Earth Day in April. Previously, it offered regular programs aimed at the general public interested in health and the environment. This is the first time classes have been specifically designed for children and families.

During the class, children actively participated in cooking to experience various ingredients. The program featured four dishes: vegetable curry, tofu ragù sauce with vegetable noodles, rice balls, and vegetable pizza. The classes emphasized using tofu instead of meat and incorporating vegetables that children might find unfamiliar into familiar dishes like curry and pizza.

The cooking sessions were led by Chef Daniel Choi and a sustainable eating education expert. Prior to cooking, the children received age-appropriate theoretical lessons to help them understand the concept and necessity of sustainable eating.

Pulmuone focuses on plant-based and animal welfare-centered foods and diets as key areas of sustainable eating. The '211 Meal Method,' which emphasizes a diet rich in fresh vegetables, low-saturated fat proteins, and whole grains, was also part of the education.

Starting with this program, Pulmuone plans to regularly offer special classes that families can participate in during each vacation.

Yoon Myung-rang, head of global marketing at Pulmuone Foods, stated, "Since a child's eating habits are formed at the family dining table, the experience of cooking together is the most effective education. We will continue to expand various educational programs through Tasty Pulmuone to ensure the values of sustainable eating are naturally passed on to the next generation."
