DBKorea is moving forward with its North American strategy, combining the overseas expansion of its restaurant brands with local sauce production and distribution. This initiative follows the global strategy announced by CEO Baek Jong-won in September 2025, which is now yielding concrete results through partnerships with local companies.

On August 18, DBKorea announced that Baek Jong-won, currently on a business trip in North America, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Canada's Sunray Group, a major hotel and real estate company, to collaborate on restaurant operations. Discussions are also underway with key local food distribution companies to expand the distribution of TBK sauces.

Sunray Group operates over 80 hotels under global brands such as Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt. The two companies have agreed to convert existing Sunray locations in the Toronto area into DBKorea restaurant brands and are working on detailed plans. They are also considering introducing DBKorea brands in other Sunray hotels and commercial facilities.

During his visit, Baek also engaged with major food distribution companies in Canada to expand the market for TBK sauces. Discussions included promotional events in supermarkets, pop-up food courts, and the development of TBK sauce-based menu items in direct-operated restaurants. Additionally, negotiations with another large distribution company aim to supply TBK sauces through local distribution networks, expanding sales from B2B to B2C products.

In the United States, DBKorea plans to establish a local production system to maximize logistics efficiency. The company will collaborate with a global food conglomerate to begin local production of key B2B sauces, starting with the Hong Kong Banjum sweet and sour sauce. This strategy aims to reduce logistics costs and supply times by utilizing U.S. production facilities as a supply hub for the North American market. Joint development of home meal replacement (HMR) products tailored to local tastes is also in the works to target the general consumer market in North America.

A DBKorea representative stated, "The business opportunities identified overseas are leading to concrete collaborations with local companies. We will continue to expand our global business success by combining DBKorea's brand and product development capabilities with local companies' production and distribution networks."
