At a regular press briefing, the ministry's spokesperson Park Doo Soon said Wang is scheduled to arrive in Seoul on Wednesday for a two-day visit and hold talks with his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun.
Their talks are expected to cover various issues including bilateral ties, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and other regional matters.
It will be Wang's first visit to South Korea since September 2021 and the first foreign ministers' meeting between the two countries since their talks in Beijing in September last year, about 11 months ago.
Park said the visit will provide an opportunity to review progress ahead of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China in November, and to step up preparations for future cooperation and high-level exchanges.
Wang is also scheduled to meet with President Lee Jae Myung at Cheong Wa Dae on Thursday.
