Paldo is enhancing its noodle production process by implementing an artificial intelligence (AI)-based autonomous manufacturing system at its Naju plant. This system will analyze data generated during production in real-time and use AI to determine optimal production conditions for equipment control.

On August 19, Paldo announced that it is collaborating with MIQube Solutions to establish the AI autonomous manufacturing system at its Naju facility, which produces key noodle products including Paldo Bibimyeon, Wangttuk, and lunch boxes.

The new system will analyze production data in real-time to detect anomalies in the process and suggest necessary actions to operators. It will also employ 'Physical AI' to assess on-site conditions and adjust production parameters accordingly.

In the noodle manufacturing process, AI will predict noodle thickness in real-time and automatically set production conditions. It will monitor key ingredients such as moisture and fat content, as well as manage product weight, to minimize quality variations during production.

Additionally, the system will automate the necessary equipment settings when changing production items. Previously, operators had to manually input settings for each product, but with the new system, condition values will be automatically adjusted based on the product being produced. Paldo expects this will reduce the time required for product changes and enhance production efficiency.

In the future, the production data accumulated during the process will be utilized for quality control and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Park Su-deok, the head of Paldo's Naju plant, stated, "Even minor process differences can impact the product, so we are focused on minimizing errors in the production process. We will enhance our manufacturing competitiveness by utilizing the AI autonomous manufacturing system to produce products with stable quality."

This system implementation is part of the 'AI Application Product Rapid Commercialization Support Project' promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development's AI Innovation Promotion Team. MIQube Solutions is responsible for the system construction, which is currently in the initial phase. The entire system is expected to take about a year to complete.
