The digital single "BiiiG," released the previous day, reached No. 1 on Melon's Top 100 chart within an hour of its release.
The track also topped other major music charts including Bugs, Genie and Vibe later that day.
"BiiiG" is a high-energy hip-hop track built around a heavy beat and repeated hook.
Member G-Dragon took part in writing and composing the song.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG will embark on their 20th anniversary world tour, "XX: COSMOS," with three shows in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province this weekend.
The tour will continue across 19 cities in North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia, with 33 concerts in total.
