SEOUL, August 28 (AJP) - A fire broke out at a paint ingredient factory in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province on Friday, leaving three people dead, according to fire authorities.

The fire started at around 11:40 a.m., prompting firefighters to rush to the scene. They discovered three people dead inside the facility and were still working to contain the blaze while searching for anyone missing.

An emergency alert was also issued around noon, urging nearby residents to stay safe and motorists to take alternative routes.

According to the provincial government, its governor, Park Soo-hyun, who was on a business trip to Europe, instructed officials to mobilize all available resources for rescue and firefighting efforts.
