Tickets for KTX bullet trains and other trains for the country's biggest holiday, which falls from Sep. 24 to 27 this year, can be purchased online through KORAIL's website.
People aged 65 and older, people with disabilities, pregnant women and those with national merits can reserve tickets online or by phone during the first two days of early booking on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For the general public, reservations will be available only online for five days starting next Monday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Only six tickets may be purchased at one time, up to a maximum of 12 for one person over any time period.
But more trains and additional travel options are expected to become available following KORAIL's merger with another high-speed rail operator SR, which was finalized and became effective on the first day of this month.
