A Blue House official stated in a media briefing, "I understand that specific details have not yet been finalized."

On the previous day, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Ruthnick revealed in an interview with CNBC that the administration is preparing significant tariffs on semiconductor imports to encourage domestic production. He did not specify when these tariffs would be implemented.
