Hana Financial Group is partnering with the Small Business Market Promotion Corporation and the Small Business Association to supply affordable eggs to local supermarkets ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
On September 6, Hana Financial announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding at its headquarters in Myeongdong, Seoul, to support price stabilization through the supply of 'affordable eggs' to local supermarkets.
The 'Affordable Egg Project' features the selection of 20 egg farms, minimizing margins from production to distribution to lower the selling price of eggs. Approximately 120,000 cartons of eggs will be supplied to about 4,000 local supermarkets nationwide, allowing consumers to purchase two cartons, totaling 60 eggs, for 9,990 won.
Hana Financial will contribute funds to support the costs of washing, inspecting, and sorting the eggs, as well as nationwide logistics expenses. The Small Business Market Promotion Corporation will handle price labeling, fair trade operation guidelines, and business management, while the Small Business Association will assist with product placement and sales through its network of small supermarket chains.
Hana Financial Group Chairwoman Ham Young-joo stated, "This project is meaningful as it provides tangible support to small businesses and consumers, which are the roots of the local economy. We will continue to implement support initiatives that contribute to the livelihood economy and fulfill our social responsibility in finance."
